  A poem for Mama

One day. Mama felt sick. I decide to recite

a poem to her. It goes like this:

"At the ends of my hands, I have ten little fingers"

"At the ends of my feet I have ten little toes."

"At the ends of my hands, I have ten little fingers."

"They help me to run, to play, and to follow my body wherever it goes!"

"I have black curly hair and big brown eyes to see al; around me and look up at the sky!"

"Mi nose is great, too! I can smell anything."

"Like the food Mama cooks and the cakes Grandma bakes!"

"My mouth is my favorite, because it has all my teeth."

"I brush them every day and night and after I eat sweets."

"I take good care of my body.

I wash it and dry it make sure it gets rest."

"So when I go to school

I am healthy and can do my best."

And then I said,

"Mama, take care of your body, take your medicine and rest, for our bodies are really,

really great!"

Then she nodded at me, smiled, and fell asleep.
